Guests at a bachelor party in Borno received a rude
shock when armed gunmen invaded the venue and
opened fire.
The attackers, suspected to be members of terrorist
sect, Boko Haram, were said to have arrived at the
location on motorcycles.
This latest attack in the Tashan Alade area of the
state is said to have left at least 8 people dead and
several others with varying degrees of injury.
Suspected Boko Haram fighters opened fire on a
bachelor party in Borno State, killing eight people
and wounding several others, witnesses said
yesterday.
“Three Boko Haram members came on motorcycles
at about 11 yesterday night,” Abdul Usman said in
Maiduguri, where he fled after escaping the attack
on Tashan Alade village. “They were shooting
indiscriminately.”
Security forces have stepped up the offensive
against the rebels in the past few days after Boko
Haram fighters armed with grenade launchers and
anti-aircraft guns attacked an army barracks in
Bama.
